Sleep Deprivation

I have no sort of useful update because I am so sleep deprived.  Trying to come up with some options for changing up a coat that I love, but have had for many years.

My Cambridge satchel finally came in.

SWAG

I was wondering, does anyone read this?  What do you want to see me write about, do you want to see endless posts about my outfits?  Hear about the never ending stream of products I fearlessly try, much to the chagrin of my chin acne?  Or just more stupid pictures of the weird things I find at good will?

Thrifterday

The BIG FIND $4 will use the miniatures for D&D.
Today was a very weird thrifterday.  I overslept a bunch, didn't get my house cleaned and suddenly realized I had 20 minutes to get to the bank before it closed.  Also I didn't eat breakfast.

Goodwill was having a sale so they were mobbed.  I found some awesome things that I didn't buy, because, well, why?  But they were awesome.

Welcome Nephew!

Just a few hours after I went to bed on Friday I received the phone call I've been expecting for weeks!  My sister was in labor and it was time for me to drive to Philadelphia and watch my niece while sis did the hard work of pushing Martin Thomas in to the world.  If you would like to read my sister's birth story, it's here.

Hi Dude!
It was a busy weekend of watching my niece, who is almost 3 and obviously going through quite the adjustment.  She is the only grandchild on our side, and her spotlight just got blown up by this gentleman.

I'm very proud of my sister, my niece's entrance in to this world was full of complications and my sister had a c-section, which was not something she wanted.  This time she was able to give birth the old fashioned way.

I had a hard time sleeping in the city, at some point there was a bagpipe band walking down the street at 9pm, woke my niece up, good times.  I drank like all of my sister's coffee.

Back at work today my stylish surprise from ModCloth was waiting.  I have to say I was uh, disappointed when I took it out, but I kind of like it on.

Adventures in Henna

Before - Just woke up

Today begins my adventure in Caca Brun Mama henna from Lush.  What you can't see in this picture is that my hair is really uneven in color, I have some white hairs, and it's just much redder from the ears down, winter color vs summer color.

So this is all the stuff you need, plus a wooden spoon.

Protecting the bathroom

After Phase 1
I don't have any actual shampoo so I can't fully wash it out, Henna develops over days so this is not a good indication.  It is super greasy right now, but once I go get real shampoo it is going to be so soft.  I left it on for 4 hours, 2 with the wrap, 2 without.

Bathroom clean up was relatively easy, I'm sure I destroyed one or two towels.  Protip: Once you're done washing it out, keep the shower running and clean while you are in it and everything is still wet.   You will need to clean the henna out of all of your nooks and crannies too.  It gets everywhere, it was in my belly button.

I will update what I consider the final color in a day or two, with better natural lighting.

It's My Birthday!

I am 35.  In honor of managing to not die for all of these years, I bought cat food and got a salad from Panera.. Yaaay..

Another pair of new glasses.

And then I tried to eat my cat.

But for real, here are 5 things I promise will happen by 35.

  1. You will know how to trim your bangs.  Not anyone else's just your own.
  2. Weird foods that you used to think were gross will not only be edible, but they will be delicious.
  3. You will not give a fuck.  I went to see Breaking Dawn, alone, in overalls.
  4. You will have money to do fun things when you want to.  This doesn't necessarily apply if you don't work hard, or you have children.
  5. You will no longer care about bullshit and drama.
proof about the bangs, compare the photos I just did this
